Sydney at Brighter Child

Here are some recent pictures from Sydney's day care!

Alicia, the owner, and all three teachers (Kiki, Daisy, and Cassie), do SUCH fun things with the kids. They have lots of art activities (I can tell by the paint on her clothes!), animals to look at/play with (right now a kitty, two rabbits, fish, and a snail farm), and even music class every Thursday.

This is a play table where the kids can "wash" dishes. One of the parents made this!

Handprint art. She named her fish "Sissy."

Fun and games with the music therapist, Teacher Amy.

Reading time. (That's Sydney on the left!)

Listening to Teacher Amy. That's Teacher Cassie in the arm chair.

Sydney laying out the letter blocks.

Avery is 8 Months Old!

Lots of changes this past month. Avery is now eating lots of different foods: yams, carrots, pureed chicken and turkey, applesauce, and yogurt.

Chicken-puree-face. :)
Avery loves to "talk" and tries (succeeds) to be louder than anyone else talking. Her favorite cartoon friend is Mickey Mouse - smiles when she sees his face!

She's also sitting up and cut 2 TEETH! Despite the teething, she is still such a little angel! She's always smiling and is so fun to play with.

Trip to Fairytale Town

Baba, Lita, and Uncle Ali came up for a visit and we all took the Girls to Fairytale Town, in Sacramento's Land Park. Sydney had a GREAT time and Avery loved watching her play.

The Girls had some lunch at the park and finished up RIGHT before the huge downpour started. We all made it to the cars safe and sound!

Avery is 7 Months Old! - MORE PICS ADDED!

Our little girl is growing so FAST! She is doing so well on her solid foods now - rice cereal, sweet potatoes, apple-pear sauce - and has the cutest chunky little legs. She definitely needs some time to warm up to her new foods but has made great progress in the last month. First taste usually ends in a gag face. After about a week, she'll tolerate the new flavors and will eat what we offer. After a couple of weeks, she gives in and eats like a champ. I  think she just happens to have a very refined palate! She eats her "meals" twice a day and still takes about 5 6oz bottles each day.

She still loves her jumpy toys quite a bit and even more, watching her Sister play. They are just in love with each other. I can't wait until they can really play together.
Avery went to her first Bridal Shower

Enjoying our club's toddler pool

Play time with Sydney

Mommy got a bit spoiled in August - Avery slept from about 7:30 PM until about 6 AM! One thing I've learned is that once you get used to a "routine," it changes.
