Gobble Gobble

We made the rounds and got to see lots of friends and family for Sydney's first Thanksgiving! No turkey dinner for her this year but she did partake in some seasonal flavors with her Acorn squash.

Sydney and Stella

The Reichards stopped by for lunch on Friday! We were so happy to get the girls together again. :)

Wake up Sleepy head

Smiley little Syd, waking up in the morning is one of our favorite things. :)

A Seat at the Table

Sydney Kate takes after her Mommy when it comes to food - can't wait to eat and hasn't met a food she doesn't like!
She wasn't so sure about Rice Cereal but ate it anyway. . .

Then we added home-made zucchini puree (from the garden!) to the menu.
Lita Ericka had fun feeding Syd

we added avocado to the mix. . .

Then I decided to to stock the freezer! Using the baby food maker from Grandma Pat, I made Butternut Squash, Acorn Squash and Sweet Potato purees. I froze them in ice cube trays, then popped them out and put them in labeled containers in the freezer. Made about 3 weeks of food for about $4! Next is peas and green beans.

Half-Year Birthday

Sydney is 6 months olds and Kevin and I are enjoying each day more and more! She is such a smiling, bundle of LOVE and brings so much joy to everything we do. Even though I enjoy sleep (who doesn't?), sometimes I secretly want her to wake up so that I can squeeze her again! We even enjoy watching her wake up (on the video monitor) and just play in her crib, and talk and make her sweet little sounds. She can entertain herself for up to 30 minutes in there! She DOES have a great room. :)

Playing after waking up

She is SO aware of her surroundings and REALLY noticed the dogs this month - staring and them and even grabbing for them. She also loves being in the kitchen as we prepare dinner or wash dishes. She's just taking it all in.

She is putting everything in her mouth these days - so Mommy had to go buy more "mouth-friendly" toys for her to chew on. If it's not a toy in her mouth, it's one of her hands!

Her newest "activity" is to play in her jumparoo and she's getting really good and navigating around in it (the middle part spins around so that she can play with all of the various toys!)

Grammie Dawnie and Sydney have really been enjoying this "fall" weather and have been venturing out on two walks each day. I think Grammie likes it when they see other walkers so she can show off little Syd!
