Swimsuit Season

Sydney put on one of her MANY swimsuits this past week and had a little fun in the backyard. We hooked up a cute little grub-worm spray toy to the hose and set her free!

It took her a while to "warm up" to the idea. . . check out this video.

Look Who's a YEAR OLD!

Miss Sydney Kate is 1-year old! What a year it's been. Our little baby is now a toddler with 7 teeth and walking everywhere! She's still a fantastic eater and sleeper - going down around 7PM and sleeping until about 6:30AM. Mommy LOVES this!

She is also doing well at self-feeding, and generally learning how to start to do things on her own. She knows about brushing her teeth and hair, that shoes go on her feet, how to rub shampoo into her hair, and holding her water cup.

She loves being outside - either walking around the yard picking up whatever she can find, or swinging in her new swing! It's fun to swing and watch Daddy work on the garden or mow the lawn.

 We recently visited the Dr. for Sydney's 12-month check-up and she weighed in at 22.6 lbs - which is 90th percentile for her age, and 31 inches - which puts her in the 95th percentile for height.

Sydney is 11 Months Old!

What a fun month it's been! We had two Easter celebrations and Sydney got lots of fun Easter gifts.

Next year she'll get to participate in the "big kids" Easter Egg Hunt - look out everyone - something tells me that she'll win, and be the girl with the most eggs!

Sydney Kate is 10 Months Old!

 Our little girl is getting bigger! And it's getting MUCH harder to take these monthly pics. Lately, Sydney is all about where ELSE she can go. She's very mobile and in about a months' time, has mastered the art of pulling herself up, cruising around with the assistance of strategically placed toys or furniture, and even "real" crawling. It's also very common to find her standing in her crib. All of this means lots of excitement and lots of bumps and bruises. She's quite a trooper though, and 9 times out of ten, will get right back up and get back to play.

 Sydney also had another "first" this past month - the swings! Grammie and Sydney take daily walks to the park, sometimes two (weather permitting), to get some solid swing time in. If its too sunny, Sydney will even wear her shades.

Sydney is still a very good sleeper. She starts her nighttime routine around 6:30 PM, starting with a bath, and is in her crib by 7:15, and sleeps for about 11 hours. She has also gone down from three naps to two - each nap, anywhere from 1 to 2 hours in length.

Sydney had her first little cold this past month, which was really only a runny nose, but it lasted for about a week. She had a tough time sleeping but was a real trooper. :)

Other firsts in February? First superbowl, first visit to Chuck E. Cheese (see "first cold" above), first time eating yogurt, pasta and chicken, and first Valentine's Day.
