6 Months have just flown by! Little Avery had some "firsts" this past month and we've all had some rough days and nights.
Avery put on her little swimsuit for the first time and took a dip in the pool with Mommy!
First trip to the Sac Zoo! (She took a little snoozer on Mommy.)
We got her on a nightly bath routine (rather than daytime baths) that she seems to enjoy. They help her get nice and relaxed for bed too!

Mommy worked hard to wean her off of nighttime feedings (which started up between months 4-5) and it worked! Then she caught a little stomach bug. :( Mommy and Daddy spend their first night away from both girls for Mommy's Birthday. Grammie and Pah-Pah (Grandpa) stayed with the girls and had to comfort poor Avery while she was sick. After that episode, Avery developed an aversion to her bottle and wouldn't eat during the days that Mommy was at work, waiting for Mommy to come home and nurse her. This meant that Avery was waking again a couple times each night to eat. Last Sunday, we decided to only offer the bottle and not nurse her - hoping that she'd quickly concede and start taking the bottle again. It was a very emotional 24 hours but she eventually decided she was hungry enough to drink from a bottle. Next hurdle was getting her to take formula from a bottle! This time we had more confidence int he fact that she would NOT starve and would again eventually eat when she was ready. WHEW. What a rough couple of weeks it's been, but she seems to have turned a corner! AND she slept from 7:30 PM until 5:30 AM this morning! Next project: rice cereal!

She is just such a joy and is so sweet. Loves to be held and observe everything that's going on around her -especially what Big Sis Sydney is doing.
